"The school met or exceeded every expectation. I notice steady improvements each time I fly and this is something I just wasn't experiencing prior to your courses."

Daniel Hammon.
Bountiful, UT

"I learned more after the first two flights at your school than I had in three years at my club."

Neil Reynolds.
Peterboroug, ONT

It was a wonderful week, filled with more accomplishment than I could have imagined. I now have a repertoire to practice and master that will keep my flying days full for many years.

Doug Crowne.
St. Agatha, ONT

What an awesome experience.
I can’t believe how much my flying improved in such a short amount of time.

Kevin Brice.
Milwaukee, WI

Dave helps pilots see the forest through the trees and learn what will take years to come by on your own. Why re-invent the wheel when you can take from his years of instruction, and build on it from there.

Pride Grimm.
High Point, NC

As a result of taking the course, I now fly with a purpose, and when I do something wrong, I now know how to fix it.

Rick Jackson.
Evansville, IN

After your primary solo course my R/C club of 150+ members awarded me "Most Improved Flyer of the Year 2010".

Len Petkun.
Indian Hill, OH

My flying is getting better and better every day. I attribute that directly to the foundation I received from your excellent training.

Ed Petterson.
Export, PA

Dave has almost unlimited patience. His manner and calm reactions to any flying situation is one of the keys to the success of the students. It was well worth the investment and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to fly properly.

Brad Moss.
Cleveland, OH

Your observations, consistency, patience, and abundant positive energy to instill progress are inspirational and will serve this student well for years to come.

David Sciortino.
Tucson, AZ

The guys at the field really noticed a difference and made many compliments after I took your course. Thanks for all your help.

Perry Tamarra.
Snohomish, WA

The course, the equipment and your teaching were all excellent, even better than your site promised!

Gary Demchick.
Acworth, GA

The basic aerobatic course served as a great foundation for the future. It's been noticed at the club that I now fly "with purpose" and not just to burn fuel. Because of your instruction and insight, my flying this season has improved by leaps and bounds.

Howard Kelley.
Montgomery, MA

I don't hesitate to fly in the wind after flying in 15 and 20+ winds during the course. I learned more in one week at your school than I had in the previous 20+ years of RC!

Bob O'Connor

"With the help of your books my RC flying has rapidly progressed into the aerobatics phase.  Using two fingers on the sticks has been a particularly big help for me and your recommendation of no more that one hour of air time per day is totally true for me." Read more

"I am a veteran "full scale" pilot with many hours in fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft but when I took up R/C I was in reaction mode with no proper planning before take off.  The guys in our club said my struggles were due to the fact that full-scale pilots make the worst RC pilot students." Transmitter Handling
The 2-finger Solution
Most flyers make 3 to 4 times more control inputs than what the maneuvers require when flown optimally. A higher quantity of inputs further increases the likelihood of errors and a different result each time a maneuver is performed. These issues tend to be greater for pilots who fly with only their thumbs on top of the control sticks due to the unsupported thumb’s natural tendency to jerk or snap the controls (especially when the pilot is excited or anxious, e.g., flying a new model, when it’s windy, etc.). “Building Good Habits for a Better Future”
Aileron-Rudder Mixing Explained
As the name implies, adverse yaw is an adverse or unfavorable condition that, among other things, delays achieving solo abilities.  Traditionally, struggling and committing to many hours of practice before soloing has been the assumed burden of the student pilot until his or her skills improve.  Unknowingly and unnecessarily, novices have been fighting the additional challenge of flying with adverse yaw. Instructor's Corner
Words ofWisdom
A former AMA president once said, “If you ask each of the 2600 clubs about instruction programs, the overwhelming majority would respond by saying, "Sure, we provide help for the newcomer." All too often though, little thought is given to how the instruction is structured. There just seems to be an ultimate goal; learning to fly, but without a road map to get there. If you did have a more organized approach, in the long haul you would have safer flying and keep members longer. In the end, you will create a better club.” Read more

"To put it short, your program works and it gave me the confidence to fly when I got back home. The 5 days I spent with you represented several summers worth of regular training."

Jeffrey Steinberg.
Chessnut Hill, MA

"I now have the confidence that I am totally in control of my plane. The DAS system just can't be that simple, and yet it is!!!"

Steve Storman.
Harrington Park, NJ

"Thanks to your training, I'm enjoying flying instead of trying to keep up with the plane.

Sam Stimson.
Austin, TX

"Those 4 days rejuvenated my interest and desire to improve. You are an incredible teacher, who mixes the right amount of enthusiasm with an enormous knowledge of flight."

Herb Carpenter.
Plattsburgh, NY

You are not only a great teacher, but a very dedicated professional who knows how to inspire your students to "reach for the sky".

Michal McClure.
Lake Forest, IL

Dave is the top expert at explaining how to fly model airplanes. David's series of books are a must-have for any serious RC pilot.

Since the class I have more confidence in my flying abilities and I am more relaxed and enjoy the sport more than ever. My investment in Dave Scott's class was the best thing I have done to improve my flying.

Dean Ehn.
Boulder, CO

I'm much more comfortable flying near the ground which was a real hurdle for me before the school. Your crawl, walk, run teaching approach coupled with your aeronautical knowledge makes the school and instruction the highest quality available.

Perry Tamarra.
Snohomish, WA

The way you have structured your course, from simple to complex, is educationally sound and it works. Your teaching and coaching ability is however, the thing that brings it all together. Your explanations before the flights and during the flights eliminated the usual disorientation and lack of control.

Faye Stilley.
Wilton, CT

Having been a full-scale instructor for over 25 years I can truthfully say your method of RC instruction is superb and effective. I believe your class should be mandatory for anyone wishing to excel.

Romeo Bachand.
Mundelein, IL

I can honestly say that I have never been more satisfied with any investment of my time, energy and money than I am with the training provided by your school.

Bob Kohler.
Cedarburg, WI

Your instruction technique is terrific. Your patience is beyond belief. I would not hesitate one moment to recommend your training course. It took me 30 years to get to your school and you had me flying solo in three days. Thank you again & again & again!!!!!!!!

Jim Heinz.
Polo, IL

Of all the education courses I have taken over my life, yours was the very best.  I cannot remember having a more organized and influential instructor.

Frank George.
Eagle Creek, OR

I couldn't be happier with all that you taught us.  I have a new found confidence and am no longer behind my plane.  I now have a plan before I fly and stick to it.

Eric Tadlock.
Kingston, TN

I changed my plane and radio setups based on what we learned in class and now they fly like they are on rails versus bouncing all over the sky just a week prior.
