Dave,

It has been two weeks since I completed the 1st US R/C Flight School Sport Aerobatics class, and I wanted to share my 'reflections' of this wonderful 4 day indoctrination into basic aerobatics. I graduated your Primary Flight training school 8 weeks ago, after having flown trainers for two years. Primary Flight training instilled the both the essential basics of flying and confidence in controlling my inputs to the airplane and not waiting to 'react' to what the plane was doing.

I prepared for the course by reading and reviewing the Sport Aerobatics Flight Training manual. This 'prework' and preparation was essential to give me a sneak preview of what I was going to learn during the 4 day session, as well as an excellent review for me each evening. The manual is written in a concise and logical way that builds on each day's accomplishments.....your 'Crawl, Walk, Run' approach to R/C flying.

What most impressed about the Sport Aerobatics class was the concept of once again, 'going back to basics' and flying parallel lines and keeping wings level. Time and time again, both myself and my classmate Jim realized how critical parallel lines and level wings are to conducting aerobatic maneuvers, and more importantly, providing the framework for a sequence of maneuvers.

While we both graduated on day 4 by demonstrating our knowledge of basic aerobatics and completing a 10-maneuver sequence of rolls, loops, Immelmanns, Cuban 8s, Split S, etc., it was the completion of my 'hidden agenda' that created the most satisfaction with the Sport Aerobatics course. What was the hidden agenda? Having to concentrate on the maneuvers and sequences, and not be at all concerned about my take-offs or flying........that just all came naturally and confidently, since we once again practiced the 'basics' of flying in the comfortable view, with proper ground references, parallel lines, and keeping those wings level.

These basic concepts have been so critical to moving me along to the 'next steps' of R/C flying. I look forward to joining you and my classmate Jim once again next June for the Precision Aerobatics course.

Thank you again for providing the methodology and framework of basic flying techniques that continue to build my confidence and experience in flying R/C aircraft at age 53.
