Testimonial 11/24/04 Dear David; I am truly enjoying the latest manual. I have recommended you training books to all in my association. Your system of balance, wing incidence, trimming, engine thrust angles, explanation of slip stream, P-factor, introduction of when and why and how much to wind correct, elevator bump to roll, the snap, are all right on the mark. Many of the best pilots I know, don't understand the flight principles that you outline, they maybe able to fly very well, but have come to that ability without correctly understanding the cause and effect relationship of lift, drag, thrust, and the interconnecting principles of incidence, slipstream, and P-factor, and are not able to explain flight to others correctly. There is always a debate on snaps. Your explanation of the snap is dead on. I also found out what is wrong with the Dave Patrick 540 when reading your manuals. I have fought this tiger all year. It turns out that the center of gravity and the center of pitch rotation are several inches apart. I'm going to set the wing incidence up a notch, re-balance and trim. It has way to much elevator surface to fly precision, and has always "hunted the horizontal line" probably due to slip stream and the incidence set at zero, zero. I have just purchased a C.A. "Eclipse. I can hardly wait for the first contest. Most of my planes have had zero incidence, local voodoo legend, but the C.A. has 1 pos. degree wing, and zero on the stab. I'll set the engine a little down, and a touch right. It should be fun! Your work is becoming the National Standard to resolve airfield arguments, you know. "According to Scott..." has been heard more than once. I hope that your program is a great success, and I honestly recommend you manuals to all that fly R.C. Grant Sharp
